My deepest gratitude to Master Lu!
I used to work in a café. The café was temporarily closed because the owner went on maternity leave, as well as the government’s COVID restriction on retail. Since I am not a permanent resident in this country, I was not eligible for the government’s financial support. So I ended up with zero income for months.
Although I have started looking for job since end March of 2020, I have yet to receive any call. On the other hand, my age is at the 3, 6, 9 karmic obstacle this year, which makes it even harder to find a job.
Master Lu has said, we could use our merits to make a prayer. Therefore, I prayed to Bodhisattva with some merits that I have gained from the voluntary duty at the Guan Yin Citta Center and from sharing this story. Master Lu has also advised that our prayers may not be answered overnight. It could be due to the lack of merits, or it could be an ordeal from Bodhisattva. Nonetheless, I remained committed in the voluntary duty at the Guan Yin Citta Center no-matter what.
In mid-September, a fellow practitioner shared her recruitment agency’s contact with me and I gave it a go. Surprisingly, I got a reply from the agency the next day. Then on the second week, I was called in for an interview. By the third week, I was already hired for a trial period!
While waiting to hear back, I have also applied for some other jobs. Miraculously, I received a call from the hiring company not long after. At the same time, my friend has also approached me for an online job. With the restriction being eased, the café was back on running again and so was I. But that is not all, recently I took an English test and the result was quite good.
I am still flabbergasted of everything that had happened, especially during such a difficult time. This is unbelievable! Without the Bodhisattvas’ blessing, how could all these be possible?
Dear fellow Buddhist friends, we must always be equipped with merits. You never know until you need it. Always work hard, regardless of the outcome. The Bodhisattvas could see your effort.
Last but not least, I thank the Bodhisattvas for taking care of me even though I would never label myself as a dedicated Buddhist practitioner. Bodhisattva is always compassionate and will answer our prayers.
May the Greatly Compassionate and Greatly Merciful Guan Yin Bodhisattva forgive me if there’s anything inappropriate in my sharing.
